Reporting is a requirement of the NHMRC and a condition of ACU HREC approval.
Submission of progress reports is a requirement of the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research (2023), as well as a condition of ACU HREC approval. Accordingly, ongoing approval is contingent upon the submission of:
Please note: From 2024, the ACU HREC will be transitioning away from progress/final reports being due on a project's anniversary. Going forward, researchers will be prompted, early each year, to submit a report covering the previous calendar year's research activity. For example, in early 2025 researchers will be asked to submit an annual report (progress or final), commenting on their research activity in the 2024 calendar year (1 Jan - 31 Dec). This will apply to all projects that were deemed active and approved for all or part of 2024.
It is the Chief Investigator's responsibility to ensure that reports are received on time. As a courtesy, the Ethics Officer will send you a reminder if overdue.
These changes do not apply to extension reports, which can be submitted at any time.
If a Progress Report or Final Report is due for a Registration, we require a copy of the report and acknowledgement from the external HREC.
To submit a report, please download and complete the template below and send to res.ethics@acu.edu.au.
